How do I find a book in the Alexandria Card Catalog?
- Log in on one of the two computers just east of the circulation desk (facing west)
- Click on “Library Card Catalog” on the desktop
- Enter a search term. You may search by author, title, subject, series name, call number or all words (everything in the book’s records)
- Click on the book you want
- Scroll down to find out if any copies are checked in
How do I know where a book is in the library?
- The library’s books are arranged according to the Dewey Decimal System. Click here to learn more about it.
How long can I keep my books?
- Kindergartners are allowed to keep their book for 1 week; 1st- through 8th-grade students are allowed to keep theirs for two weeks.
How many books can I check out at a time?
- Kindergartners may check out 1 book at a time; 1st- through 8th-grade students may check out 2.
