• Friday May 2nd, JZ our after care co-ordinator, has arranged for the UMCA Art Truck to visit our playground from 2:45-3:45. Please enjoy this mobile exhibit with your children.
  • Have you seen the playground lately? Some new painted features, that long awaited grass is turning from brown to green and all those adorable kids are running around enjoying the clean, warm air.
  • Don’t forget to complete the committee survey. This is your chance to make committee requests. Deadline is May 4th. Questions and comments can go to .
  • FYI Sunday is Star Wars Day. We have books for that.
  • One of our favorite book distributors, A+ Bookfairs, is having a warehouse sale May 7-9 from 9-5 at 100  N 700 W in North Salt Lake. If you liked the fall book fair you might want to check this out.
  • Parents will have another chance to view the movie Race to Nowhere on Friday May 9th at 6-8 pm in the library. The screening is FREE but we would like an idea of how many adults to expect so signing up here in advance would be greatly appreciated. Discussion groups will meet in classrooms after the 90 minute movie.
  • Teacher appreciation week is next week. Check with your community support rep to see what they have planned.
  • Speaking of appreciation- a poster has been placed in the hallway near the office for notes of gratitude to the all-volunteer committee chairs and co-chairs. Did you see that “all-volunteer” part? All of this work gets done because someone cares and they inspire others to care as well.
  • It has been so wonderful to meet some of our new Kindergarten kids and parents this week. Welcome to the Open Classroom!
  • Thursday May 15th the upper grade kids will present a RenFaire in the gym.
  • Friday the 16th will be the last day to check out books for this school year. To facilitate end of year inventory, please bring back all books by the 22nd. Thanks for all of your support!
