If you did not receive a letter from the Salt Lake School District with your child(ren)’s registration information please contact Nicole in the front office and she can assist you.
Admission to The Open Classroom is open to all students entering grades K – 8.
Before you apply to the Open Classroom, we want to make sure you understand that this is a unique charter school. Take some time to look at the Philosophy and Family Involvement pages on this website. These pages will give you some idea of what we stand for and what we will ask of your family.
The Admission Process
It is now required that you attend either our Parent Information Night or a school tour to have your application included in our enrollment lottery. Be sure to sign in at either event. If you have already attended either of the above, our records will so indicate. If the scheduled times and dates don’t work for you, individual tours may be scheduled. Contact the school at 801-578-8144 and speak with Nicole.
Fill out an online application form or mail, fax, or hand deliver the application to our main office.
Families will be notified of the lottery results two weeks after it is run. If your child is offered a space, we ask that you please let us know by the deadline stated in the letter you will receive whether or not you plan to enroll your child. If we do not hear from you by that deadline, we will offer the space to the next student on the waiting list. Applicants with sibling/s currently enrolled will receive priority.
Your child’s chances of being admitted vary, depending on how many applicants are applying and the number of available spaces.
For questions related to Admissions, please contact the Registrar at 801-578-8144 or firstname.lastname@example.org

We strongly urge you to attend a tour to see what we’re all about. Parent information nights and tours are intended for parents/guardians and other interested adults. Please arrange child care during your visit, your child is welcome to visit the school at another time.
Parent Information Nights

If you wish to tour our school before these dates, please RSVP for one of the tour dates below, or contact the office at (801)578-8144 to arrange a time that works with your schedule.
